Sayman Leads Wildcats After Day One of Nemacolin Collegiate

FARMINGTON, Pa. – Playing in his first event this season, Davis Sayman led the Davidson men's golf team on day one of the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational hosted by West Virginia.
 
The two-day / 54-hole event is being played on the 7,526-yard, Par 72 Nemacolin Woodland Resort – Mystic Rock layout.
 
Tomorrow's third and final round will begin at 8:00 a.m.
 
After opening with a 77, Sayman (+3) fired a two-under 70 in the afternoon thanks to four birdies.
 
As a team, the Wildcats shot five-over 293 on their second 18 to improve one spot up the team leaderboard.
 
The host Mountaineers (-21) lead the 19-team field by four shots over James Madison (-17).
 
In addition, Kaleb Wilson of West Virginia holds the top spot in the individual standings at eight-under par.
 
Nate Faulkner (+5), Alexander Paschall (+8), Owen Jessop (+9) and Jackson Bode (+10) are also in the Wildcat lineup this week.

Davidson will resume its fall slate Oct. 18-19 at the Furman Intercollegiate in Greenville, S.C.
