
Wildcats Drop A-10 Opener to Flyers in Five Sets

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Wildcats were the first A-10 team to force Dayton to play five sets since 2022, but ultimately fell to the Flyers on Friday night.
After Davidson dropped the opening set 25-15, the team responded in a big way in set two. The Wildcats posted a .350 hitting percentage in the frame and won 25-20.
The third set was tied 14-14 and then Dayton won 11 of the next 14 points to win the frame. Down two sets to one, Davidson stormed back with a .375 hitting percentage in the fourth set. The Wildcats won the fourth set 25-15, which tied Dayton's largest margin of defeat in a set this season.
The Flyers won the fifth set 15-6.
Middle blocker Mia Compas matched her season high with 12 kills and a .417 hitting percentage. Setter Kinsey Smith impacted the match in so many ways. The sophomore recorded a career-high six kills and contributed with 41 assists and 12 digs.
Elena Garcia-Guerrios notched her sixth double-double of the season with 13 kills and 13 digs. Jordan Hummel had 18 digs and 7 assists.
