Joyce Named Defensive Player of the Week

WASHINGTON -- After a 2-0 week for the Wildcats, goalkeeper Kayla Joyce was named the Atlantic 10's Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
The Philadelphia native made 17 saves and allowed nine goals, including just two goals allowed in an 18-2 rout over George Mason last Wednesday. With the two wins, Joyce kept the Wildcats' five-game win streak alive and helped push the 'Cats to an 8-3 record overall and 4-1 conference ledger.
This season, Joyce holds an 8.35 goals against average and .524 save percentage, which ranks seventh and sixth respectively, in NCAA Division I women's lacrosse.
Joyce and the Wildcats will return to action this Sunday, April 6 at 12 p.m. for a meeting with St. Bonaventure in Olean, N.Y.
