Putnam Adds National Weekly Honors

After a breakthrough weekend, Davidson infielder Eli Putnam added multiple national weekly honors on Tuesday, a day after earning Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week recognition.
The redshirt junior from Cabin John, Md., was named the Golden Spikes Award Player of the Week and the Perfect Game National Player of the Week.
In a four-game stretch, which included a midweek loss to N.C. State and a weekend sweep of VCU, Putnam hit .765 (13-for-17) with two doubles, five home runs, 10 runs scored and 14 RBIs.
Against VCU, he was 12-for-15 (.800), went 4-for-5 in all three games and had two-homer and three-homer games on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
