'Cats Look to Extend Streak at George Washington

DAVIDSON - The Davidson women's basketball team will look to push its winning streak to seven in an Atlantic 10 road contest at George Washington 12 p.m. Sunday.

SERIES HISTORY...
Nye Robertson scored a game-high 21 points as George Washington defeated Davidson on Senior Night with a 45-40 victory Feb. 28 inside John M. Belk Arena.

Maddie Plank was the lone Wildcat in double figures with 12 points. Katie Donovan had a good night on the boards bringing in nine rebounds.

Trailing 28-20, Davidson closed the third quarter on an 11-3 run, then scored four straight to begin the final period, grabbing its first advantage since the opening minutes.

The Wildcats would push the lead to 40-36 on a Mallorie Haines' layup with 4:55 to play, but that would be the last time they score. George Washington (12-18, 5-12) concluded the contest with nine unanswered, including seven from Robertson.

LAST TIME OUT...
Issy Morgan scored 18 points and Davidson connected on 9-of-21 from long range in a convincing 66-50 victory over George Mason Feb. 20 inside John M. Belk Arena.

Millie Prior, Kyra Bruyndoncx and Candice Lienafa finished with 12 points each for Davidson, which held George Mason to just 32.7 percent, including a 3-of-13 clip from behind the arc.

FUN IN FEBRUARY...
February has been a marquee month for the 'Cats who are currently an undefeated 6-0 in the second month of the year.

Davidson is outscoring is February opponents by a +13.7 margin each game in addition to holding those competitors to just a .323 FG% and .301 3PT%.

Katie Donovan has been a solid all-around contributor during the month averaging 10.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game all the while shooting .512 (22-of-43) from the floor, .400 (6-of-15) from beyond the arc and .857 (12-of-14) at the foul line.

Charlise Dunn has also put up sizable numbers during the streak with 10.3 ppg, 6.7 rpg2.8 spg, 2.1 apg and 2.0 bpg. The junior guard has also connected on 11 three pointers while missing just one shot at the foul line.

Mallorie Haines has led the charge from distance over the month of February. The senior sharp shooter has converted on .500 percent of her attempts beyond the arc, making a total of 14 over a six-game span. Additionally, Haines has shot well all around, with a roster-best .516 percentage from the field during the Wildcats current winning streak.

Morgan in her three games back this month has picked up where she left off, netting 11.0 ppg including a 6-of-10 showing from long range.

DOMINATING DEFENSE FROM THE ARC...
Ranking fifth in the nation and first in the Atlantic 10 in opponent 3-point percentage at just .253, the Wildcats have continued to defend the arc well entering the final contests of the regular season. So far this season, Davidson has surrendered just 92 total made 3-pointers, allowing its opponents to hit more than six triples only one time this season.

The 'Cats have held their competitors to no made 3-pointers on three occasions this season (0-6 Presbyterian, 0-3 Charlotte, 0-8 George Mason).

The Revs enter the weekend matchup looking to snap a two-game  losing streak, having most recently fell to Dayton 66-51 Feb. 15 at home and A-10 leaders Richmond 67-57 Feb. 19 on the road.

George Washington carries per game averages of 59.2 points and 40.3 rebounds into the contest while allowing the leagues third lowest opponent field goal percentage at .376 and shooting .387 for itself. The Revs lead the Atlantic 10 in rebounds per game (40.3) with an A-10 best 27.1 on the defensive end of the court, while also being fifth in the conference in blocked shots per contest with 3.6.

Makayla Andrews leads the scoring with 11.6 ppg in addition to tallying 4.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest. Gabby Reynolds is the last Revs player to average double-figure scoring with 10.9 ppg as well as 3.2 rpg, 1.9 apg and 1.2 spg. Paige Mott brings in a team-best 6.0 rebounds per contest while also shooting a roster-high .524 field goal percentage to go along with 6.8 points per game.
