Men’s Golf Inks Two for 2026-27 Campaign

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Head Coach Tim Straub announced Thursday that Jesse Hellring (Miami Beach, Fla.) and Griffin Cheatwood (Charlotte, N.C.) have signed with the Davidson men's golf program for the 2026-27 season.
"We are very excited about the signings of Jesse and Griffin," Straub said. "In addition to very successful junior golf careers, they are tremendous scholar athletes. We look forward to them joining our program in the fall and for them to have an immediate impact."

Junior Accolades: 2024 District Champion and All-Dade County first-team selection… Captured both the 2024 Rhode Island Junior Amateur and AJGA Senior Showcase Titles… Climbed to as high as 189 in the JGS Class Rankings.
Griffin Cheatwood
Charlotte, N.C. | Charlotte Latin
Junior Accolades: 2025 AJGA Academic All-American… Selected second-team all-state as a junior… Finished fifth at the AJGA Callaway Junior… Placed sixth at the AJGA Lanto Junior… Climbed to as high as 98th in the JGS Class Rankings.
Davidson has won five of the last seven Atlantic 10 Championships and will resume its 2025-26 season at the Hal Williams Collegiate in February.
