‘Cats Conclude Fall in Mexico

MONTERREY, Mexico – Nate Faulkner carded a final round score of three-under 69 to pace the Davidson men's golf team on Saturday at the Monterrey Collegiate Classic hosted by George Washington.
Unlike most 54-hole tournaments, the annual event featured consecutive days of 27 holes.
Faulkner, the 2025 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, finished the two-day tournament tied for 30th at 216 (+2) to lead the 'Cats on the individual leaderboard.
Classmate Clayton Couey (+4), who led Davidson after day one, finished two back of Faulkner following a 73 this afternoon.
Alexander Paschall (+11), Davis Sayman (+13) and Owen Jessop (+21) were also in the Wildcats' lineup, while Will Tharin (+7) competed as an individual highlighted by a two-under 70 today.
VCU (-30) rallied from nine strokes back, cruising to the team title over Richmond (-10) and UTRGV (-10), while the Rams' Carson Looney (-10) took home individual medalist.

Davidson will open its 2026 Spring slate in Mobile, Ala., at the annual Hal Williams Collegiate hosted by the University of South Alabama Feb. 16-17.
