Short-Handed 'Cats Fall to The Citadel

DAVIDSON, N.C. – A short-handed Davidson Wildcat wrestling team fell to The Citadel Bulldogs 44-0 in Belk Arena on Friday night.
The 'Cats were without its two ranked wrestlers and their leader in wins on the night, and the visitors took advantage. Seven of the 10 matches resulted in bonus points for the Bulldogs, including one forfeit.
In the other three bouts, freshman 141-pounder Marley Washington took Thomas Termini to overtime in his first collegiate dual match but fell 4-1.
Another freshman, Bryce Griffin, took No. 32 Thomas Snipes down to the last minute at 165 pounds. Griffin led 5-2 with a little over a minute to go, but Snipes worked a takedown into a four-point nearfall to win 9-5.
Junior March Koch dropped a close 4-1 match to Ben Haubert, with a takedown in the first 30 seconds being the difference.

The Wildcats will turn around and host Gardner-Webb and Air Force in doubleheader action on Sunday at 2 and 4 p.m.
