WASHINGTON – Following a record-breaking run at Wake Forest, Grahm Breiter has been named the Atlantic 10 Men's Track Performer of the Week.
A junior from Ladera Ranch, Calif., Breiter smashed the school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Wake Forest Invitational with a time of 8:53.74. The third-year man ran in the elite heat on Friday night and finished 11th out of 48 other runners while beating his previous record by nearly eight seconds.
His new mark not only broke a program record, but it also propelled him to the top of the conference outdoor performance list. Prior to the weekend, Breiter ranked fifth in the A-10, but now he owns the fastest time by a whopping 13 seconds.
This week's accolade marks the first of Breiter's career and the second for the Wildcats this outdoor season.
