Burkholder, Monohan and Boyse Record Top-5 Showings on Final Day at USC

COLUMBIA, S.C. – A number of personal records and Top-5 showings highlighted the final day of competition for the Davidson women's track & field team at the Weems Baskin Invitational hosted by the University of South Carolina.
The two-day event took place at USC's Sheila and Morris Cregger Track.
In her first outdoor competition of the 2024 season, senior Megan Burkholder finished fourth in the pole vault with a height of 3.70m (12-01.50). Teammate Summer Laskey also competed in the event, registering a new personal record of 3.40 (11-01.75).
Like Burkholder, Amelia Monohan recorded a Top-5 finish this afternoon, coming home fourth in the 800m with a time of 2:18.58.
Freshman Elise Boyse also set a new personal record for the 'Cats, finishing the 1500m in 4:36.01 to place fourth out of 31 entries.
Sprinter Kierra Marshall turned in a strong performance in a deep 200m field. The senior clocked in at 24.63 to finish just inside the Top-10.
Davidson's outdoor season will feature seven straight weekends of competition in preparation for the 2024 Atlantic 10 Championships, which will take place May 4-5 in Fairfax, Va.
