
Eheman and Masterman Lead 'Cats on First Day of Weems Baskin Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Seven Wildcats competed on the first day of South Carolina's Weems Baskin Invitational on Friday. Kenny Eheman took second place in the 1500-meters and Nick Masterman had a season-best throw in the javelin to lead the 'Cats.
Eheman, a junior from Raleigh, ran the 1500 for the first time in his outdoor career and ran a 3:53.99 to take home second place. This time ranks third-fastest in the conference coming into the weekend. Teammate Jack Muldoon was right behind him with a personal-best time of 3:55.77 which was good for fourth place.
In Friday's field events, Nick Masterman earned a top-six finish with a season-best throw. The Villanova, Pa. native recorded a toss of 54.48 meters on his final attempt to take sixth out of over 30 competitors. It was Masterman's best mark since notching a 55.28 at the VertKlasse Meeting in 2022 and puts him in second on the A-10 performance list.
