Sullivan and Godoy Finish Runner-Up to Highlight Final Day in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Molly Sullivan finished runner up in the 3K and Isabella Godoy took second in the 800 meters to highlight the final day of competition for the Davidson women's track and field team Saturday at the 49er Classic.
The three-day event took place at Charlotte's Irwin Belk Track & Field Center.
A freshman from Boerne, Texas, Godoy's time of 2:14.40 was the fastest by a collegiate runner, while also a new personal record. Fellow Wildcat and classmate Jocelyn Millican finished sixth in the event at 2:16.96.
On the distance side, Sullivan recorded a time of 10:21.62 in the women's 3000 to come home second out of 27 competitors.
Coming off a second place of her own in yesterday's 400 meters, Sophia Hood shattered her previous personal best in the 200 with a time of 24.72 to place fifth. Teammate Kierra Marshall also impressed in the event finishing 11th (25.09) out of 96 runners.
Davidson's outdoor season will feature seven straight weekends of competition in preparation for the 2024 Atlantic 10 Championships, which will take place May 4-5 in Fairfax, Va.

Davidson will travel to Columbia, S.C., next weekend for the Weems Baskin Classic hosted by the University of South Carolina.
