Personal Records Fall at Events Hosted by VMI and Liberty

LEXINGTON / LYNCHBURG, Va. – In addition to Jocelyn Millican winning the 500 meters and Isabella Godoy finishing as the top collegian in the 800 meters, the Davidson women's indoor track and field team set a number of personal records this weekend at events hosted by VMI and Liberty.

Millican's first win as a Wildcat came in 1:16.25, while Godoy, coming off a first-place finish at the Camel City Invite, finished the 800m in 2:14.08, also a new personal best. Amelia Monohan (2:17.32 / 4th) finished just behind Godoy in the event with a new PR of her own.
Junior Aleia Gisolfi-McCready turned in another impressive performance in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing second with a career-best time of 8.92.
Competing for the first time this season, Megan Burkholder led Wildcat pole vaulters, placing third with a height of 12' 1½", which matched the program's second highest, also held by the senior.
Davidson's final PR of the weekend came from freshman Elise Boyse, who ran the mile in 5:19.67.

On Friday evening in Lexington, Va., Hannah Casey finished third out of 23 competitors in the women's pentathlon with a personal-best 3254 points. The sophomore finished runner-up in the shot put (11.09m) and third in the long jump (5.29m) to highlight her effort.
Fellow Wildcat Maureen Cavanaugh also took part in the event recording a 13th place showing (2718 points).

Davidson will travel to Boston for the Valentine Invitational Feb. 9-10. The 'Cats will compete over the next two weekends in preparation for the 2024 Atlantic 10 Championships Feb. 23-24 in Virginia Beach, Va.
