HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Davidson women's track and field team capped off their weekend at High Point's VertKlasse Meeting on Sunday afternoon, which was highlighted by Kierra Marshall's new school record, Kelsey Troutman's fourth-place finish, and a new record time of 47.05 by the 4x100 relay team.
Junior Kierra Marshall continued to build on an already impressive outdoor season and further asserted herself as the Atlantic 10's fastest in the 200 meters. Marshall broke her own outdoor school record after stopping the timer in 24.06 seconds. This time puts the Rockville, Md. native atop the A-10.
Kelsey Troutman, who entered the weekend seventh in the Atlantic 10 in the 800m, ran a 2:15.53 to earn a fourth-place finish on the final day. Also in the 800, Breila Fuller finished 12th and set a season-best time after crossing in 2:18.30, and Liz Simms stopped the clock in 2:18.77 for a season-best mark.
Davidson's 4x400 relay team made a jump on the Atlantic 10 Performance list when the tandem of Cassandra Blau, Rachel Horowitz, Kate Carnevale, and Kierra Marshall combined for a school-record-time of 47.05. This mark places the Wildcats second in the conference.
