Bulldogs Come Back to Defeat the 'Cats

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson wrestling team began its final homestand with a Southern Conference dual match against The Citadel on Friday night, but the Wildcats fell 22-15.
Things started off on a high note for Davidson in Friday night's action. After starting in the 174-pound division, Cameo Blankenship (184) got a pin in overtime to put Davidson ahead 6-3. It was Blankenship's second victory by pin of the season.
Gavin Henry followed up with a win of his own in the 197-weight class. The senior from Union City, Pa., got six points in the first period and held on for an 9-5 victory.
The Bulldogs roared back with wins in the next five matches to go in front, 22-9, and held off the Wildcats despite victories by Tanner Peake and Bryce Sanderlin in the final two bouts.
The 'Cats will host their final home dual match of the season and celebrate Senior Day tomorrow afternoon against VMI. Tomorrow's action will begin at noon in Belk Arena.
