Kanjian Sets New School Record; Burkholder Wins Pole Vault at VMI

LEXINGTON, Va. / COLUMBIA, S.C. – Senior Hannah Kanjian set a new school record for the most points scored in an indoor pentathlon on Friday as the Davidson women's track and field team competed at the VMI Winter Relays and South Carolina Invitational.
Kanjian, a senior from Jupiter, Fla., finished in third place at VMI in the pentathlon and broke the school record with 3,529 total points scored. This snapped the previous record of 3,478 points set by Makayla Binter in 2020. Kanjian finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles, fifth in the high jump, and third in the shot put to finish her record-setting performance.
In the pole vault, Megan Burkholder took home the top spot by crossing the bar at 3.70 meters and teammate Molly O'Brien took third with a leap of 3.25 meters.
At the South Carolina Invitational, Kierra Marshall nearly broke the school record she set last week of 7.84 after running a 7.85 today in the 60-meters.
Lilly Sirover set a new personal-best in the 3,000-meters with a time of 10:52.37 which was good for 13th. Teammates Emily Henkel and Molly Sullivan finished close behind in 16th and 17th to round out a trio of top-20 finishes for the 'Cats.
The women's track and field team will wrap up the weekend tomorrow at the South Carolina Invitational.
