Davidson Wins DMR, Seven 'Cats Qualify for Sunday Finals

KINGSTON, R.I. – The Davidson men's track and field team won the conference title in the distance medley relay, while seven Wildcats qualified for Sunday's finals, to highlight Saturday's effort at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championships.
In the final event of the first day, the Davidson distance medley relay team made history. Kenny Eheman, Isaac Bynum, Jack Muldoon, and Joe dosReis combined for the fastest time in the history of the A-10 Indoor Championships with a time of 9:50.07. This time also broke the program record in the event. This gave the 'Cats their second consecutive conference championship in the event as well.
Davidson also flashed its dominance in the 60-meter hurdles in Saturday's preliminaries. Jayden Smith broke the meet record and took the top prelim time with a 7.81. Teammate Jordan Benson finished with the second fastest time at 8.03, Bryce Anthony ran the fourth fastest time with an 8.19, and Isaac Bynum rounded out the event with the sixth fastest time at 8.25. This solidified all four Davidson entries will compete in tomorrow's final.
Sophomore Jayden Smith wasn't finished for the day as he ran in the 200-meter prelims later in the afternoon, and the Richmond, Va., native cruised into qualifying for Sunday's final with a top-five time at 22.21.
In the 500 meters, Bryce Anthony ran the fastest time in Saturday's prelims when he clocked a 1:05.78 to guarantee a spot in the finals.
Another Wildcat to run the fastest time in the prelim round on Saturday was Owen Drometer in the 1,000 meters. Drometer ran a personal-best time of 2:27.70 to enter Sunday with the fastest time out of the field.
