Davidson and ‘Cats Push Streak to Seven Straight

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Suzi-Rose Deegan scored all of her game-high 22 points in the first half as Davidson won its seventh straight with a convincing 77-40 victory over in-state foe High Point Friday evening inside Belk Arena.
Riding their second longest winning streak in program history, the 'Cats improve to 9-1 overall. The setback drops the Panthers to 4-6.
For the third straight game, Davidson started fast, this time racing out to a 16-3 advantage before taking a 24-12 lead into the second quarter.
Deegan, who scored 18 of her 22 first-half points in the second quarter, put the 'Cats up 20 at the break with a 30-foot jumper as time expired. The redshirt senior drilled four treys in the frame, while finishing 7-of-8 from the floor.
Mallorie Haines (14) and Millie Prior (13) also hit the 10-point plateau for the Wildcats.
Davidson, which canned 10 3-pointers on the night, pushed its margin to as many as 38 points with just under a minute to play.
Behind seven boards from Deegan, the 'Cats held a 36-29 edge on the glass.
Anna Hager was the lone High Point player in double figures with 13 points.
