Jayden Smith Earns Opening A-10 Track Performer of the Week Honor

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Junior hurdler Jayden Smith was named the Atlantic 10 Men's Track Performer of the Week after his standout performance at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-Off this past weekend.
Smith, a native of Richmond, Virginia, broke the meet record and took first place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.83 in the finals. Prior to that, he ran a 7.87 in the qualifying round.
After this weekend's performance, the defending back-to-back A-10 60H champion sits tied for the fourth fastest time in NCAA Division I, and Saturday's mark is the 6th fastest in program history. Smith also holds nine of the program's ten fastest times in the 60-meter hurdles including the record of 7.76 which he set last indoor season at the David Hemery Invite.
