12/1/2023 12:05:00 PM | Men's Track & Field
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson men's indoor track and field team will open their 2023-24 campaign this weekend at the JDL Visit Winston-Salem College Kick Off on Saturday.
The men's program enters their first year under the direction of new Director of Track & Field and Cross Country, Matt Stuck, who previously served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Wildcats. He takes over the program after a third-place finish at last year's A-10 Indoor Championships.
Five men are currently entered to compete in the season-opening action: school-record holders Jayden Smith (60H), Chinedu Okeke (60M), and Jack Stajos (shot put). Senior Isaac Bynum is also slated to compete in the 60-meter hurdles while sophomore Lukas Valley will run the 400-meters.
Live results for the event are available at DavidsonWildcats.com.
Davidson's indoor slate will feature eight weekend meets followed by the 2024 Atlantic 10 Championships Feb. 23-24 in Virginia Beach, Va.
Among those returning to this year's squad include defending A-10 400-meter champion Josh Hardin and A-10 silver medalist Grahm Breiter, who is coming off a solid fall season for the men's cross country team.
The Wildcats also welcome seven new faces to this year's team: Zak Abdulahi (distance), John Cooper (distance), Daniel Cortese (distance), Liam Hagerty (distance), Liam Maurillo (distance), Anderson Patry (distance), and Chris Thompson (throws).
Up Next
Davidson will resume its indoor slate after the New Year at South Carolina's Carolina Challenge on January 19-20.
