
Faulkner and Couey Sign with Davidson Men’s Golf

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Nate Faulkner and Clayton Couey have signed National Letters of Intent to join the Davidson men's golf team for the 2024-25 campaign as announced by head coach Tim Straub Friday.
"I am very excited to have Nate and Clayton join our team next fall," commented Straub. "They are both tremendous scholar athletes who have had very good junior golf careers. I look for them to have an immediate impact on our program."
Nate Faulker
Hometown: Roanoke, Va.
High School: Roanoke Valley Governors School
Junior / High School Accomplishments
Named an American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) All-American… Advanced to the semifinals of the Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA) Boys Championship… Selected first-team all-state… Currently the sixth ranked player in the State of Virginia.
Clayton Couey
Hometown: Peachtree City, Ga.
High School: William & Reed Academy
Junior / High School Accomplishments
Captured the 2022 Georgia State Individual Championship… Finished seventh in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Keith Mitchell Championship… Currently the third ranked player in the State of Georgia.
Davidson, which has won three straight Atlantic 10 Championships and four in the last five tries, concluded its 2023 fall campaign with three Top-5 showings in four events. The Wildcats will open their spring slate Feb.12-13 in Mobile, Ala., at the Hal Williams Collegiate.
