About Davidson
The 'Cats are coming off a weekend full of wrestling where they competed in a pair of dual meets last Thursday against Franklin & Marshall and Brown, then wrestled at F&M's Lehman Open the next day.
Junior Bryce Sanderlin was Davidson's top finisher at the Lehman Open as the Chesapeake, Va., native made it to the 7th place match after going 5-2 in the tournament. Sanderlin finished the week 7-2 and has come on strong after missing the first six events of the season. Since returning to the mat, Sanderlin has compiled a 12-3 record with a perfect 4-0 mark in dual action.
About Bellarmine
The Knights are also coming off a busy weekend where the team competed at two different events. On Friday, Bellarmine partook in the NUWAY College Open in Louisville and wrestled in Pool B of the NWCA National Duals. On Saturday, the Knights advanced to the tournament stage at the NWCA event.
Bellarmine went 6-0 in the national dual tournament and won the event with wins over Queens, Emory & Henry, Apprentice School, Central Florida and Liberty. At the NUWAY Open, the Knights had weight class winners in the 125-pound and 133-pound weight class.
The Knights are led by 133-pound Michael Schiffhauer who leads the team in win percentage with an 18-3 record this season and 165-pound Cole Nance who leads Bellarmine with 21 wins on the year.
