ATHENS, Ohio — The Davidson field hockey team created plenty of offensive chances Sunday, but couldn't put one in the cage in a 1-0 loss at Ohio.
A goal by Ohio's Mijntje Ligtenberg in the 36th minute proved to be the difference, dropping the Wildcats to 3-1.
Davidson held a 9-6 advantage in shots-on-goal, with freshmen Celie Constantine and Sib Naaktgeboren leading the way with three apiece. Natalie Naticchia, Anna Sharp and Emelia Little also had scoring chances.
Davidson's defense limited opportunities throughout, and Genna Barge made four saves.
