Wildcats Top Queens 6-2, Move to 3-0

Natalie Naticchia and Anna Sharp scored two goals apiece as the Wildcats moved to 3-0 for the first time since the 2013 team opened with wins over Georgetown, Towson and Vermont.
Friday also marks the most goals the Wildcats have scored in a game since they beat LIU Brooklyn 8-1 in 2016.
"It was really exciting to see how our team generated offense today," said coach Zoe Almquist. "We had a lot of fast break opportunities and were able to convert on a few of those chances. Today's win was a full team effort. We went in with the expectation of playing with heart and hustle, and I believe we achieved that aim."
Sharp scored the game's first two goals in the first four minutes, both after touches by Sib Naaktgeboren. Naticchia scored the final two, off assists from Macy Curtis and Sarah Grace Clifton, as the Wildcats put the game out of reach in the fourth.
Charlie Kabelac's goal, from Emelia Little, came just before the end of the first quarter and gave the Wildcats a commanding 3-0 lead before Queens cut the deficit to one with two goals in the second.
The Wildcats broke the tension in the third, however, when Clifton scored on a breakaway after a setup by Celie Constantine.
"Starting 3-0 feels wonderful," said Almquist. "We have had an opportunity to set the tone in our first three games, and I think we've done that beautifully. I am so proud of the way our upperclassmen have displayed leadership in integrating our freshmen into the fold. And, because of that, our freshmen have really started to settle into their roles, too."
