Monahan Named Honorable Mention All-American

SPARKS, Md. -- Davidson goalkeeper Amanda Monahan was named to USA Lacrosse Magazine's Honorable Mention All-American Team, the news outlet announced Tuesday evening.
Monahan's selection marks the first for her career and the first ever All-American nod for a Wildcat.
"We're being noticed," said Head Coach Kim Wayne. "Amanda is incredibly deserving of this award, but the success we had on the field this season helped get us noticed, and in turn, brought attention to a goalie who has worked so hard to become the player she is. I'm excited to have Amanda back for her senior season, as I know in my heart she will come out on fire and ready to push this team towards a conference championship."
As the Wildcats' defensive anchor, Monahan led Davidson to its most wins in program history for the 2022 season (13), while also matching the school record for most wins by a goalkeeper in a single season (12). The junior held a 10.61 goals against average, which ranked 23rd nationally, and ranked top-5 in the nation in total saves (185) and third in save percentage (.512). With 10.28 saves per game, Monahan stopped 19 shots against No. 13 UMass in the A-10 semifinal, good for second most saves all-time in a single game in program history.
