'Cats Complete Day One at VertKlasse Meeting

HIGH POINT, N.C. - Davidson track and field competed at the VertKlasse Meeting on Friday, as freshman Charlie Siebert and Jay Shanahan along with junior Natalie Abernathy recorded top-10 finishes in their respective events.
Siebert registered a top-five finish in the men's 1500m run with his time of 3:55.49, setting a new personal record. Shanahan's debut in the 10k put him in seventh overall, with a time of 31:59.34. Abernathy finished in ninth place in the 3000m steeplechase, clocking in at 11:41.75.
On the men's side, freshman Nick Masterman also set a personal record in the javelin on his second throw of 55.28m. After his third and final throw, the Villanova, Pa. native placed sixth in the event. For the women, junior Breila Fuller placed 13th in the 1500m race out of just under 90 other athletes.
Day two of the VertKlasse Meeting begins at 9 am Saturday, April 2.
