Another Record Falls, 'Cats Continue to Break Barriers at Terrier Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. - Davidson's women's track and field had themselves a day at the Valentine Invite hosted by Boston University on Friday evening, highlighted by another fallen school record as the 4x400 relay team comprised of Anna Davis, Rachel Horowitz, Aleia Gisolfi-McCready and Bianca Nolde-Lopez finished in 3:47.43 and shattered the previous record of 3:48.16 set at the 2020 Valentine Invite.
Aside from having a part in setting the new school record in the relay, both Davis and Gisolfi-McCready set personal bests in the open 400. Davis ran a time of 56.68 and Gisofi-McCready's season best is 56.17.
But those weren't the only new records and personal bests for the 'Cats. Kierra Marshall also posted a new best and broke the school record in the open 200 with a 25.16, breaking the previous record of 25.34 set at the 2019 Valentine Invitational. The sophomore also ran a season best in the 60m with a time of 7.96, just one hundredth of a second off the record time.
Junior Natalie Abernathy ran her fastest 5k of the season in 18:00, with Anna Kathryn Kilby right behind her with a time of 18:37. Another milestone for Davidson was junior Breila Fuller breaking five minutes in the mile for the first time in a of 4:58. Freshman Sophia Hood ran her first career 800m in 2:18 and Abby Nasse ran the 3k in 10:36 with teammate Frances Whitworth behind her, stopping the clock at 10:41.
The Valentine Invite will continue throughout tomorrow and the 'Cats will compete all day. Stay tuned for tomorrow's results.
