Wildcats Will Visit Dayton in A-10 Semifinals

The fourth-seeded Davidson women's soccer team will visit No. 2 Dayton in the Atlantic 10 Tournament semifinals on Wednesday, Nov. 2.
That was determined Saturday, as the eight-team tournament was re-paired following the quarterfinal round, so that the highest remaining seed will host the lowest remaining. Top-seeded Saint Louis advanced into the semifinals with a 3-0 win over No. 8 Loyola Chicago Saturday and will face No. 6 Saint Joseph's in the other semifinal.
Davidson improved to 13-2-4 Friday night with a 2-0 win over No. 5 Duquesne, while the Flyers (15-3-1) advanced with an opening-round 2-0 win over No. 7 UMass.
Next Wednesday's match will be a rematch from Sept. 15, when Dayton won a 1-0 game in Davidson. Itala Gemelli, the league's top scorer with 12 goals, had the night's only goal in the 27th minute.
The trip into the A-10 semifinals is the second for Davidson, following the 2021 spring season, which resulted in a berth in the final.
