Field Hockey Drops Opener against Indiana

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — The Davidson field hockey team dropped its season opener to Indiana 4-0 Saturday afternoon at a three-team weekend event hosted by Central Michigan.
Indiana's Sydney Keld scored in the third minute of the contest and the Big Ten's Hoosiers controlled the scoreboard from there.
Davidson finished with nine shots to Indiana's 16, including four shots on goal. Two of those came from the stick of Anna Sharp, while Abby Pompeo and Evie Lake also had SOGs.
The Wildcats took four penalty corners, and keeper Cato Roell finished with five saves.

The Wildcats have less than 24 hours before their next match, when they meet CMU Sunday at 1 p.m. Davidson beat CMU 4-1 on March 18 at Belk Turf Field.
