8/20/2021 4:19:00 PM | Women's Soccer
The Davidson women's soccer team returns to Alumni Stadium Sunday afternoon against Georgia Southern, and the Wildcats will also honor the team's nine seniors prior to the 2 p.m. kickoff.
The Wildcats will recognize Mary Grace Bunch, Kendall Bushick, Sam Cascio, Linton Early, Shannon Lytle, Alexandra Menard, Emma Nguyen, Taylor O'Byrne and Kendall Weinfeld for their accomplishments and contributions to the program, on and off the field.
"Sunday is a special day at Davidson," said Davidson coach Adam Denton. "This is a good way of honoring our seniors as they start their senior season at Davidson College. To be a scholar-athlete at Davidson is quite an achievement, and we want to thank the players for everything they've done so far. We look ahead to their senior season and an enjoyable season for the team."
LAST TIME OUT
The Wildcats (1-0) opened the season with a 3-1 win over Gardner-Webb Thursday night, the team's third straight season-opening win.
Freshman Aleia Gisolfi-McCready scored two goals, and Riley Patton's score broke a 1-1 tie in the 78th minute.
The game's start was delayed an hour and 12 minutes by thunderstorms.
THE EAGLES
Georgia Southern is coming off a 1-1 season-opening tie at College of Charleston Thursday.
Elis Nemtsov provided the Eagles' lone goal in the 63rd minute, and Michaela English made 10 saves in goal.
