Wildcat Scratches
  • Davidson, the 2021 Atlantic 10 Champions, is making its second NCAA Regional appearance in school history.
  • The Wildcats received the league's automatic berth by capturing their second conference crown in three trips.
  • Led by senior Alex Ross' runner-up finish, Davidson claimed the program's seventh league title two weeks ago with a 54-hole total of 859 (-5) at Reunion Golf Club in Orlando.
  • Ross, the 2018 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, led the 'Cats in their last NCAA Regional appearance, finishing tied for 21st at 3-under 210 (67-74-69).
  • Ross enters the Tallahassee Regional with nine career Top-5 finishes and 12 Top-10s.
  • On Friday, Viraj Garewal and Brian Garrett were named all-conference, while head coach Tim Straub earned his third straight Coach of the Year honor.
  • Garewal leads Davidson with a 72.06 stroke average this season.
  • Garrett is second on the team with a 73.00 average.
  • The Wildcats enter with a 291.88 stroke average as a team, but have a 285.33 clip over their last six tournament rounds.

About the 2021 NCAA Men's Golf Championships
Regional play for the 2021 Division I Men's Golf Championships will be held May 17-19, with play taking place at The Sagamore Club in Noblesville, Ind., hosted by Ball State; Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee, Fla., hosted by Florida State; Championship Course at UNM in Albuquerque, N.M., hosted by New Mexico; Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla., hosted by Oklahoma State; Golf Club of Tennessee in Kingston Springs, Tenn., hosted by Vanderbilt; and Tumble Creek Golf; Country Club in Cle Elum, Wash., hosted by Washington.
 
Three of the six regional sites will have 13 teams and 10 individuals competing, while three will have 14 teams and five individuals. The top five teams (30 teams total) and the low individual not on an advancing team from each regional site (six individuals total) will advance to the national championships at Grayhawk.
