Wildcats Add to Medal Count, Wrap up Third

GENEVA, Ohio — Davidson wrapped up a program-best third-place team finish Saturday night on the final day of the Atlantic 10 Men's Swimming and Diving Championships.
The Wildcats totaled 503.5 points to improve on the fourth-place finish of 2019.
"The 'Cats were outstanding and so much fun all week," said coach John Young. "Too many standout performances to name, led by the seniors who showed so much heart here, every one of them. I'm thankful for and proud of what they've done as Wildcats."
Ian Brann medaled and helped the 400 freestyle relay team set a school record to highlight the final day of competition.
Brann took third in the 100 free in 44.53 to earn his fourth medal of the meet. Then the freshman joined seniors Kevin Andrews, Jacob Jung and Graham Harris in the 400 relay. The quartet swam to fourth in a program-best 2:58.73.
Owen Corkery (1:45.92) and Thomas Broderick (1:46.82) finished 4-5 in the 200 back, while, in the 200 breast, Cael McLaren (2:00.85), Mitchell Stanek (2:00.88) and Kostas Mateer (2:01.54) finished 4-5-6, combining for 42 points.
Will Tabor placed fifth in the 200 fly in 1:48.67, and Kevin Andrews added a top-10 finish in the 100 free (9th, 100 free).
