Wildcats Swept by Flyers

Davidson drops to 2-6 overall and 1-5 in Atlantic 10 play.
DAYTON, Ohio -- The Davidson volleyball team continued its Atlantic 10 slate today, falling behind early to the Dayton Flyers, and ultimately dropping the contest 3-0 to the reigning A-10 conference champions.
The Wildcats struggled to get their offense rolling, as the team combined for just 18 kills compared to 45 from the Flyers. Senior Remi Lehnertz had six of Davidson's 18 kills and had one service ace. Caroline Mohler was the Wildcats' most efficient attacker, as the junior had four kills on seven swings and hit a team-high .429 on the day. Freshman Bella Brady anchored the defense with 10 digs, marking her eighth straight game reaching double-figure digs.
Dayton was efficient on the ball, hitting .352 during the match and had just one attack error in a strong second set effort. The Flyers had five attackers with six or more kills, while Dayton's Bridget Doherty handled the offense with an impressive 31 assists.
Davidson will be back in action in 24 hours to take on the Duquesne Dukes from Pittsburgh, tomorrow night at 7 p.m. Complete coverage will be available at davidsonwildcats.com/coverage.
