NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Fresh off a Sunday walk-off grand slam, Davidson outfielder Parker Nolan has been named this week's Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
The honor is the first for the junior from Wilmington, and he's the third Wildcat to earn A-10 recognition in 2021. Fellow juniors Gabe Levy and Trevor Candelaria were named A-10 Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, on March 1.
Nolan hit .429 for the week, as the Wildcats went 4-0, and capped his week with the grand slam in an 8-5 win over Spring Hill Sunday afternoon. For the week, Nolan hit two home runs, drove in seven, had an on-base percentage of .556 and slugged .857.
"Parker played at a high level this week," said coach Rucker Taylor. "He has a lot of tools, and it was exciting to see him do a wide range of things. Diving catches in the outfield, beating out a ground ball in the infield and the final swing of the week, a backspun ball over the fence."
Nolan had two hits, including an RBI-single, in the 9-4 win over No. 16 South Carolina on March 17.
He and the Wildcats return to action Tuesday evening at Wofford.
