DAVIDSON, N.C. - Five members of the Davidson football team have been named to the All-Pioneer Football League First Team, announced by the conference Tuesday. Two Wildcats were named to the All-PFL Second Team and 10 earned Honorable Mention Recognition.
"I am excited for our players that were recognized on one of the All PFL teams and would like to congratulate them, they are each so deserving," head coach Scott Abell said. "I also want to congratulate their teammates who may not have been recognized, but had huge impactful season and careers for our Davidson Football program."
The five Wildcats who headline the first team are seniors FB Coy Williams, TE Jackson Sherrard, OL Cole Foley, OL Khalil Miller and sophomore DL Jonathan Hammond. Williams and Miller have made the first team for the second time in 2021 after earning a nod following the spring season. Hammond, who was the PFL Defensive Freshman of the Year last season, made the move from second to first team in the fall.
Junior RB Dylan Sparks and sophomore OL Beck Kipperman were named to the second team. Sparks rushed for 903 yards and nine touchdowns this season. Kipperman was part of the line that helped Davidson become the top rushing offense in the FCS. An additional ten Wildcats were named to the All-PFL Honorable Mention: seniors Jake Alexander, Louis Colosimo, Dreylan Hines, Jalen Jefferson, Evan Pritchard, Jordan Reed and Jalen Staples; juniors Aris Hilliard and Kaedon Jenkins; and freshman Aaron Maione.
The Academic All-PFL is set to be released, tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 20. Keep up-to-date with the latest on Davidson football on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook!
