Spring Senior Scholar-Athlete Spotlight: Greg Lowe
6/15/2020 11:43:00 AM | Baseball
Name: Greg Lowe
Sport: Baseball
What was your favorite class and why? Electronics and Instrumentation, because it was a very hands-on course. I learned a lot about building circuits, and the skills I gained will be helpful down the road.
Where did you complete your studies this semester? My family's ranch in northeast Oregon
Though it was cut short, what will you remember most about your senior season? Beating Duke in our final game at BB&T
If you had to choose, what was the defining moment of your athletic career? The first game I was in the starting lineup against NC A&T my sophomore year
What was your favorite trip you took as a team and why? To Chapel Hill for the 2017 Regional. Even though I was injured during that season, the experience was still unforgettable.
What makes a Davidson scholar-athlete different? I think it is a combination of hard work and time management. In order to excel on the field you have to put in a lot of time and work, and the same is true on the academic side.
You can invite any three people to dinner. Who is joining you? The single season hit-by-pitch record holder Matt Frey, the career HBP record holder Justin Lebek and the future HBP record holder Garrett Browder.
Most memorable college moment outside of competition? The secret Santa presentations we have every winter before Christmas break
What are you most proud of from your time as a Wildcat? The impact my class was able to have on this program and the younger players in it. I think that Davidson baseball is in great hands, and there will be a ton of success in the future.
What lessons from sports has helped you deal with the unusual situation of the spring semester? Being able to adapt to new situations and not panicking when a problem arises.
Who do you want to thank for their support? I would like to thank Coach Taylor, Coach Munger and Coach Bangs for helping me grow as a player and as a person throughout my time at Davidson.
