
Anthony, Benson Combine For Three A-10 Indoor All-Rookie Honors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Davidson freshmen Bryce Anthony made the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team in a pair of events, while Jordan Benson leaped onto the squad in the high jump, announced by the league Monday.
Anthony had a busy weekend at the 2020 A-10 Indoor Championship and earned two silver medals for his efforts. The Greensboro, N.C., product stepped onto the podium for both the heptathlon and the open 60-meter hurdles, while each performance landed him a spot on the All-Rookie Team.
Anthony posted a school record of 4817 points in the heptathlon and tied the second-best 60m hurdle performance in the program with a time of 8.25 seconds. He lowered the all-time hurdle mark at the JDL College Kick-Off, stopping the clock in 8.20 seconds.
Benson cleared 1.95-meters (6'4.75) at the Camel City Invite to become the second-best performer in program history. The Mason, Mich., native cleared 1.90m at the A-10 Indoor Championship.
The A-10 All-Rookie Team is comprised of the top freshman in each event. Both scholar-athletes had impressive debut seasons. The duo combined for three A-10 Rookie of the Week honors.
