Women's Track & Field Finish Up at the Camel City Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Davidson wrapped up the final day of the Camel City Invitational Saturday at JDL Fast Track.
Junior Caroline Willis placed seventh in the 3,000-meters, stopping the clock in 3:03.29. Freshman Kelsey Troutman also competed well, taking ninth overall with a time of 3:05.29.
Freshman Gracie McBride stretched the tape 10.63-meters (34'10.5), the 11th best triple jump mark of the day. Classmate Chloe Davis marked a leap of 10.25m (33'7.5).
Freshman Caroline Djakuduel marked a shot put throw of 10.56-meters (34'7.75).
On Friday's opening day, junior Eleni Daughters narrowly missed out on her school record time of 2:11.24, stopping the clock in 2:12.03 Friday. Daughters will have a chance to reset the mark at the place where she did it a year ago, the BU Valentine Invitational. Freshman Liz Simms registered a new personal best with a half mile time of 2:19.72 to place within the top 20 competitors.
Sophomore Leah Sarkisian finished inside the top 10 in the 600-meters, stopping the clock in 1:42.30, over two seconds ahead of her personal best.
Davis leaped to an eighth-place result in the long jump, marking an attempt of 5.34-meters (17'6.25).
Davidson returns to the track Thursday, Feb. 13 for the JDL College Team Challenge.
