Steinbacher Tabbed A Campbell Trophy Semifinalist

IRVING, Texas – Davidson senior offensive lineman Ethan Steinbacher was named a semifinalist for the National Football Foundation (NFF) William V. Campbell Trophy presented by Mazda, announced Wednesday.
The NFF recognized 185 student-athletes for the 2019 trophy which is celebrating its 30th year. Steinbacher, a computer science major, was nominated for this distinction for his combined academic success, performance on the field and exemplary leadership.
The Concord, N.C., native makes it three consecutive years a Wildcat made it to the Campbell Trophy semifinalist level – Nathan Campbell (2018) and Taylor Mitchell (2017). He is among five Pioneer Football League players to make the grade in 2019.
The NFF will announce 12-14 finalists on Oct. 30. One player per institution was eligible for nomination and must be a senior or playing in their final year of eligibility and have a GPA of at least 3.2 on a 40. Scale. The class will be selected by the NFF Awards Committee, College Football Hall of Famer's and athletic administrators.
