MIRAMAR, Fla. – A pair of Davidson men's track and field athletes are slated to compete this weekend at the Under-20 USATF Outdoor Championship at the Ansin Sports Complex.
Rising-sophomores Cory Gaither and Colin Ross will return to the track starting Friday.
"This will be a great experience for Colin and Cory," said head coach Renny Waldron. "It's an accomplishment in itself to qualify for any national championship, but our guys are not going to be satisfied with merely qualifying, and they are looking forward to competing against the best the country has to offer."
Ross is set to compete in the 10,000-meter run Friday night at 7:25 p.m. His qualifying time of 31:17.63 was set at the Atlantic 10 Championship back in May at Massachusetts.
Gaither also earned entry into the national event with his A-10 mark in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 53.27 seconds. The Statesville, N.C., native is slated to compete in the prelim at 5:13 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Finals for the event will go off at 5:14 p.m. Sunday, June 23.
