ORLANDO, Fla. – Hoke Carlton paced Davidson with a personal-best four-under 68 and Jack Lang (-5) maintained his individual lead as the Wildcats will enter the final day of the 2019 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship one off the pace.
The event is being played on the Par 72, 7,024-yard Grand Cypress Golf Club layout.
Davidson (587 | +11), the overnight leader, pushed its advantage to as many as six on the back nine, before dropping a few shots down the stretch to shoot 290. Ranked 78th in the latest Golfstat National Rankings, the Wildcats trail only VCU (586 | +10), which carded an even par 288 on Saturday.
The defending champs are three clear of George Washington (+14), as the Top-3 on the team leaderboard will be paired in Sunday's final groups beginning at 8:15 a.m. off the first tee.
After opening with a bogey-free 68, Lang fired a 71 on his second 18 and will carry a three-stroke advantage into the last round. A two-time NCAA Regional participant (2017 Individual / 2018 Team), Lang is attempting to capture his second A-10 title in three years.
Carlton (144 | E) was Davidson's biggest mover of the day as the senior climbed into a tie for sixth place, just five back.
Sophomore Alex Ross (+6 | T-18th) also sits inside the Top-20 for the Wildcats, while freshmen Viraj Garewal (+10 | T-31st) and Clayton Tribus (+15 | 45th) improved on yesterday's rounds.
