Wrestling Earns NWCA Scholar All-America Team Honors

MANHEIM, Pa. – For the second consecutive season, the Davidson wrestling team earned NWCA Division I Scholar All-America team recognition, announced by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
The Wildcats ranked 27th overall with a team grade point average of 3.17. It marks the second consecutive year the 'Cats made the grade and third time since 2015.
"It is hard to describe how proud I am of our wrestlers for their accomplishments in the classroom, and the rigorous academic nature of Davidson makes this achievement even more noteworthy," said head coach Andy Lausier. "This award is a representation of our team's ambition, drive, and discipline – it's what being a Wildcat is all about."
Davidson and Campbell University (14th) are the lone Southern Conference squads to make the list of 30 programs.
Drexel took top honors with a team GPA of 3.63, ousting Harvard who had won five of the previous six years - the Crimson took third behind American University.
