Tribus and Wildcats Extend Leads at Pinehurst Intercollegiate

PINEHURST, N.C. – Clayton Tribus stretched his individual lead to five shots and Davidson extended its team margin to 20 shots after two rounds of the 2019 Pinehurst Intercollegiate.
The three-day/54-hole event is being play on the Par 71, 6,937-yard Pinehurst No. 8 layout. The final round will begin at 8 a.m. Sunday morning.
Tribus (67-72 = 139), a freshman from Madison, Wisc., will enter the final round five shots clear of teammates Alex Ross (72-72 = 144 | +2) and Viraj Garewal (73-71 = 144 | +2).
Davidson (285-287 = 572 | +4), which entered the day with a nine-shot advantage, more than doubled its margin and is 20 clear of Radford.
In all, six (one individual) Wildcats are currently inside the Top-10 individually.
Senior Hoke Carlton (74-72 = 146 | +4) moved 10 spots up the leaderboard into seventh, while individual competitor Will Simmons (74-73 = 147 | +5) and Jack Lang (73-75 = 148 | +6) sit tied for eighth and 10th, respectively.
Davidson is seeking its third win in its last nine tournaments dating back to last spring.

The Wildcats will enjoy a two-week break before returning to tournament action at the Furman Collegiate March 22-24.
