Carlton and Lang Lead 'Cats to Runner-Up Finish at Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. – In addition to seniors Hoke Carlton and Jack Lang finishing tied for third and fifth, respectively, Davidson carded the lowest team round of the day to come home second at the 2019 Furman Intercollegiate Sunday.
The three-day event was played on the Par 71, 6,984-yard Furman University Golf Course.
Coming off back-to-back 11th place showings, Carlton fired a three-under 68 on his final 18 to finish with a 54-hole total of 208 (71-69-68).
Like Carlton, Lang (71-71-69 = 211 | - 2) also posted a sub-par round to record the 11th Top-5 showing of his career.
Davidson (-3) which entered with a pair of wins and five Top-3 finishes this season, fired a season-low 282 to conclude the 21-team field just four back of champion Coastal Carolina.
Enjoying one of their most successful campaigns in program history, the Wildcats lowered their season stroke average to 288.43.
Freshman Viraj Garewal (72-73-73 = 218) continued his steady play to post another Top-25, while first-round leader Alex Ross (219 / T-30th) and Clayton Tribus (223 / T-55th) also competed for the Wildcats this weekend.
Tribus, who claimed individual medalist at Pinehurst, bounced back with a one-over 72 this afternoon.
Furman's Keller Harper (-8) edged the Chanticleers' Wes Artac (-7) to finish atop the 120-player field.
