Lang and Golf Finish Tied for Fifth at Wexford Plantation

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – In addition to Jack Lang's 10th career Top-5 showing, Davidson recorded its fifth straight finish of fifth or better as the Wildcats concluded play at the 2019 Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon.
The two-day / 54-hole event was played on the Par 72, 6,913-yard Wexford Plantation layout.
Ranked 91st nationally by Golfstat, Davidson came home tied for fifth out of 19 teams with a total of 886 (301-293-292 | +22). It was the Wildcats sixth Top-5 showing out of seven tournaments dating back to last season.
Davidson finished its fall slate with a win at the Dayton Invitational, a runner-up finish and two third-place showings. The Wildcats ended the four-tournament slate with a 287.72 stroke average.
Lang, ranked 96th in the country, concluded the event at 216 (E), which included two scores of par or better, giving him 11 in 14 rounds this season. Through five events, the two-time all-conference performer has a 70.78 stroke average.
Both Hoke Carlton (221/+5) and Alex Ross (223/+7) turned in solid showings for the 'Cats finishing tied for 17th and 25th, respectively. Freshmen Viraj Garewal (229/+13) and Clayton Tribus (236/+20) were also in the Davidson lineup.
Charleston Southern (+12) fired a 10-under 278 to climb seven spots up the team leaderboard and claim the title by four shots over Furman (+16).
Brad Bawden (-4) of Memphis took home individual medalist with a pair of High Point golfers finishing second and third.

Davidson will continue its seven-tournament spring slate March 5-6 at the Fort Lauderdale Collegiate.
