Dugger and Tabor Named PFL Players of the Week

ST. LOUIS – Following a record-setting Saturday for Wesley Dugger, the junior running back was named the Pioneer Football League Offensive Player of the Week, while classmate Pat Tabor filled in at place kicker and earned the league's weekly Special Teams honor, announced Sunday.
Dugger helped drive Davidson to a 49-19 road win at Jacksonville, rushing for 193 yards on 22 carries (8.8 yards) and a Wildcat single-game and PFL record-tying, five touchdowns.
Amid an 11-touchdown stretch over the last three games, Dugger reset the school's rushing touchdown record at 37, and counting. The Henrico, Va., native also moved into third on the all-time rushing list, jumping Eric Ferguson '00 and sits at 2,940 yards, 145 off Ray Sinclair '82 in second.
His 193 yards was the third highest single-game output of his career and his third 100-yard game of the season. Dugger has scored multiple touchdowns in three straight games, going for 4, 2 and 5 over the last three outings.
For Tabor, it was a dramatic and successful homecoming for the Jacksonville native. The slot receiver filled in on extra point duties after a pregame injury sidelined Caden Bonoffski for the day. He went on to convert all seven point after tries including knocking through a PAT after scoring his own touchdown in the second half.
It marks the first league weekly awards for the 'Cats this season, the last coming in September 2018 when Corey Coppola '19 earned Special Teams Player of the Week recognition.
