Football Lands 50 on PFL Academic Honor Roll

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – For the first time since 2015, Davidson placed 50 Wildcats on the Pioneer Football League Academic Honor Roll, announced by the league Friday.
Davidson last broke the 50 scholar-athlete mark in 2015 when 58 'Cats were recognized. The record to beat remains 64, which was accomplished in 2009 and again in 2011. In all, 543 student-athletes were recognized by the PFL from its 10-member institutions.
Davidson's 50 recipients ranked tied for fifth overall in the league with San Diego. Dayton earned the top spot for the fourth consecutive season, landing 79 student-athletes, while Drake (63) and Butler (63) rounded out the top three institutions.
The PFL athletic director and coaches established the honor roll as a way to recognize the league's outstanding student-athletes. The academic honor roll consists of student-athletes who participated in football at member institutions during the fall semester and posted a 3.0 grade point average or higher during the semester while enrolled full-time in accordance with NCAA rules.
