DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson head wrestling coach Andy Lausier released the 2018-19 schedule that features exposure to every Division I conference in the nation.
Lausier's second season at the helm will boast seven duals at John M. Belk Arena including out of conference matches with Pittsburgh, Brown, George Mason and Sacred Heart. The 'Cats open the home slate with Greensboro on Tuesday, Nov. 13.
Davidson faces a few tough road tests highlighted by a dual with North Carolina State the day before the Wolfpack Open. Other notable road trips include Franklin & Marshall the day before the F&M Open and a dual with Hofstra in Lexington, S.C.
"This schedule will give us exposure to wrestlers and teams from every Division I conference in the country, including a dual with last year's NCAA fourth place finisher, NC State," said Lausier. "We are also excited to bring new teams, Pitt and Brown to our campus for duals this season."
Davidson plays host to three Southern Conference duals, VMI (Dec.1), Appalachian State (Feb. 12) and Gardner-Webb (Feb. 22), while traveling to Chattanooga (Jan. 27), The Citadel (Feb. 20) and Campbell (Feb. 24).
"I am confident that this year's schedule will provide our wrestlers with opportunities to face some of the best competition in the nation," said Lausier.
The SoCon Championship is set for Sunday, Mar. 10 at App State in Boone, N.C., while the NCAA Championship begins Tuesday, Mar. 19 in Pittsburgh.
"Appalachian State will play host to this year's Southern Conference Tournament, where our wrestlers will look to stamp their ticket to the NCAA Championships in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania," said Lausier.
