HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Davidson (278-282 = 560 | -8) fired its second straight sub-par round to begin the 2018-19 season as the Wildcats finished T-3rd at the Marshall Invitational, while senior Jack Lang came home T-3rd individually on Tuesday.
Due to weather and course conditions, the annual event being played on the Par 71, 6,523-yard Guyan Country Club layout was cut to 36 holes.
Lang (-5), who opened with a four-under 67, carded a one-under 70 in the second round, to record the seventh Top-5 finish of his career.
Making their collegiate debut, freshmen Clayton Tribus (Individual) and Viraj Garewal posted Top-15 finishes for the Wildcats shooting 139 (-3) and 140 (-2), respectively.
Alex Ross (-1 | T-21), Hoke Carlton (E | T-30) and Kevin Carlock (+4 | T-53) were also in the Davidson lineup.
Davidson, the defending A-10 Champions, finished tied with league foe Dayton and three clear of VCU.
Wichita State (-19) maintained its overnight lead to claim the team title, while the Shockers' Zac Owens (-8) won the individual crown.
