MONROE, N.C. – Former Davidson standout and all-conference performer Sam Echikson '14 carded a six-under 66 to claim medalist at the 2018 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship Sectional Qualifier hosted by Monroe Country Club on Friday.
With the win, Echikson earned one of four qualifying spots for the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, which will take place Sept. 22-27 at Charlotte Country Club and Carolina Golf Club.
The qualifier was conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association on behalf of the United States Golf Association.
